The three ages of man , The four ages of Nicola Jayne

Sometime between 1512 and 1514 CE Titian painted

The Three Ages of Man which wikipedia tells  us "The painting represents the artist’s conception of the life cycle. Childhood and manhood are synonymous with earthly love and death approaching old age are drawn realistically. "

The four ages of Nicola Jayne  are about  transition... no artwork sadly...  I've remarked  in the past that  being a recently socially  transitioned  person can feel like being 4 ages at once...

those four ages  10 , 13/14 , 18/19 and  whatever age you are  ...

'whatever age you are'  you have all the life experience you have, even if you spent most of it looking through the wrong lens...

18/19 - you are old enough to drink, you are old enough to go clubbing, you get compli-bitched about your legs, also you missed out when you were 18/19...

13/14 it's that whole second puberty thing and perfecting your make up ... (and  for  the trans ballerinas  among us - pointes!  though I've seen quite a few cisgender women whose inner 13 year old comes out  of the shoe bag along with their toe pads and pointes ...)

10  it's looking at the world of being a grown up in your gender with a mixture of anticipation and  trepidation, also stuff like  being able to do your own hair ( if you've grown it out long)  plaits, buns, french plaits ...
